2nd International CSVN Tournament
Leiden, Netherlands, May 31 - June 2, 2002

 

This tournament is played in 3 consecutive days. The playing tempo is reasonably swift, 90 minutes per player for the whole game. The pairing and ranking for this tournament is done on Buchholz and SB points, because no ratings of the programs on the current hardware were available.
In the same weekend the 5th CSVN Chess-computer User´s (Gebruikers) Tournament took place.

Note that Djenghis did not show up for rounds 7 and 8. Therefore Holmes colour in round 7 has been reset to white and different rules with regard to Buchholz and Sonnenborn-Berger apply: For calculation of BU and SB purposes only, these two games count as draw. For the players of these two games, their own score counts as contribution to their BU and SB, not the score of the opponent they did not play. Pairing program: Swiss Master 4.8 (Petunia).
